When trying to find home care, there’s a lot to think about. Sometimes the decision can seem extremely hard. To try and help with this, there are awards given to home care services that lets people know the ones that are extremely good at what they do. One of these places is the Corner House Home Care, who provide quality home care for Holland on Sea.
They’ve been bestowed several awards that let you know the service they provide is exceptional. The first of these was given to them in 2004, where they received a CQC status of “Home of Excellence”. These ratings are a government requirement, they’re there to tell people who use the services exactly what the standard of safety and care is. As a “Home of Excellence” Corner House Home Care is in the top bracket for home care in Holland-on-Sea and even the country.
As well as this, in 2009 they were given an award for innovation by Essex county council. The award recognised the work Corner House has done to improve home care in the Holland-on-Sea area. It came about because of a project centred on “Bringing the Outside World In”, wherein residents were provided with a larger choice of activities, help with emotional needs and important interaction with the wider community.
The project involves an IT tutor regularly visiting residents, local schools providing art classes, special day events, the setting up of a reading group and a church service on location. Alongside this, regular trips to places of interest to residents happen every 1 to 2 months.
The Holland on Sea home care service has received some more awards as well. In 2012, Essex County Council awarded Corner House Home Care ‘Care Team of the Year’ as well as ‘Manager of the Year’. These awards recognise the team’s spirit – born from always striving to improve, adapt and create a happy atmosphere. A team that is happy helps to create a home full of happiness also.
The following year, in 2013, the team narrowly missed out in the Great Brit award for Team of the Year and were awarded as runners up.
Deciding on a home care service is rarely easy. But these awards hopefully make it easier to see the places in the Holland-on-Sea area that are great at what they do. Corner House Home Care is constantly improving on their service and hope that there will be many more awards to come.
